It may also be referred to as a drop ceiling, T-bar ceiling, false ceiling, suspended ceiling, grid ceiling, drop in ceiling, drop out ceiling, or ceiling tiles and is a staple of modern construction and architecture in both residential and commercial applications.
Gypsum Tiles
Gypsum contains water molecules in its crystal structure, which helps it to resist high temperatures and prevent the spread of flames. This makes gypsum an ideal material for walls and ceilings, where fire resistance is a critical factor. Gypsum is also an excellent sound insulator. A waterproof gypsum board is made out of an aerated gypsum core with unique water repellent additives that are enclosed in and firmly attached to strong moisture-resistant green paper liners. Waterproof gypsum board ceilings can also be used in dry areas that require long-lasting ceilings.
PVC Tiles
PVC ceiling panels are sturdy and very durable. They can last for years without warping or bending. Unlike gypsum and POP, PVC ceiling panels are not brittle and are less likely to get damaged while handling. They are an affordable alternative to the conventional POP or gypsum ceiling panels. PVC ceilings are completely waterproof and resistant to termites, mildew and mould. As these panels are very lightweight due to being hollow, they can be lifted and transported very easily.
